Eight Iranian photographers have won awards in different sections of the Through the Viewfinder photo festival, 2017 in Serbia.
Ahmad Khatiri bagged the Photojournalism Section medal of FIAP Gold for his only competing picture “prayer and mourning for the martyrdom of their fathers in war zones”.
In the same competition category, Seyyed Omid Alavi’s ‘War’ was awarded the Gold medal of SALON; four bronze medals went to Saeid Arabzadeh for his ‘Sorrow’ (the Master of Light Photographic Association (MOL) medal), to
Mostafa Mirtaleb’s ‘Betting’, which snatched the bronze medal of ‘Photographic Society of America (PSA)’, as well as another for ‘Caspian Sea’, which was ranked third in the ‘Open Monochrome Section’; it also got the and FIAP Blue Ribbon for “Snowy Mountain” in the ‘Nature’ Section.
In the same competition category, the International Association of Art Photographers (IAAP) Gold Medal was given to Arabzadeh for his “Ghazaleh”.
Three honorable mentions were also awarded to Davud Ameri, Reza Fathi-Moqadam and Abdolmoeid Marufi.
That’s while Shiva Mohammadi grabbed the Master of Light Gold Badge for the best photo, with her “Bring Me the Color of the Night”.
Lumiere’s Beam Gallery in Kragujevac, Serbia, will exhibit the winner’s works from December 25 to January 10, 2018.
